Usually when a client is selecting a floor covering, either carpet or wood, colour has the highest importance, then quality and suitability, so my job is to source the correct product ensuring that not only is the colour right, but also its type, material, style, durability, feel and look, is what the client wants.

There are so many types of carpets. Axminsters, velvets, twists, loops, saxonys, and many varied materials used in their manufacture. Wool, natural fibres, manmade fibres and mixtures of these as well. Not to mention the countless quality differences on the market. The same goes for wooden floors. Solid, engineered, laminate, LVT. This can be very confusing for customers, so I use my experience to recommend the most suitable product.

When choices are made I always insist on taking samples home to see them in the areas where they are to be installed to ensure colour is right, then I measure all jobs regardless of size. Peace of mind for the customer and myself that there will be no problems at installation. On bigger jobs, the relevant fitter will accompany myself; and the customer will be advised on any issues which may be of concern.

At this stage, the job can be priced, ensuring that no hidden charges will arise, and on instruction from the client the flooring can be ordered and fitting scheduled, usually about 2 weeks from ordering to fitting.
